And by the way…

I originally conceived of this piece after visiting a singing class by the legendary Penny Nichols at the Swannanoa Gathering, where we were both teaching. Penny had everyone in the class sing the same one drone note, then let people take turns freestyling a wordless melody over that. It was beautiful, and a little haunting, and I wanted to play with the idea more. The low notes on this song are all my voice. The atmospheric noises are played on the cello, but there is actually very little cello on this track.
