“Still” – the new album from David LaMotte

My latest album, Still, was released on CD and digital formats on June 18, 2022. I’m proud of this project, and it’s been moving to find that it matters to some other folks, too. The album spent four months in Top 20 on the FAI Folk Albums Chart, and the song September Me was the #1 song on the FAI Folk Singles Chart in September, 2022.

Due to a global vinyl shortage (!?!), the vinyl version of the record came out nearly six months after the CD version, in December, 2022, and it is now available here.  The album is also available on all of the major streaming services.

Co-produced with Chris Rosser, this album features eleven new songs of my own, and one classic cover, Peter Gabriel’s In Your Eyes, reinterpreted in a way that I think honors the original, while also weaving our own art into it.

The album was funded by 392 backers, through a Kickstarter campaign.  If you were a part of that, thank you for helping to make it happen!  You’re a great boss.

Here are the songs on the record:

  1. Waiting
  2. Here For You
  3. September Me
  4. Coming Alive Again
  5. Thinkin’
  6. In Your Eyes (Peter Gabriel)
  7. Quiet Hour
  8. Still
  9. The Way It’s Done
  10. Look Away
  11. Gone
  12. You Are Loved

And here are the musicians who join me on it:

Josh Goforth – banjo, fiddle
River Guerguerian – drums, percussion
Michael Hynes – bass
Billy Jonas – frame drums
Christine Kane – harmony vocals
Kinobe – kalimba, vocals
James Kylen – drums, percussion
Tom Leiner – electric guitar
Michael Manring – bass
Doug Pettibone – pedal steel, electric guitar
Zack Page – bass
Amanda Platt – harmony vocals
Karine Polwart – vocals
Chris Rosser – electric guitar, bass, keyboards, dotar, Wurlitzer, percussion, piano
Connell Sanderson – Uilleann Bagpipes, Irish flute, whistles
Jeff Sipe – drums
Leland Sklar – bass
Stephanie Winters – cello
Beth Wood – vocals

Below are some of the Kickstarter videos we made to update people as we raised the money to make the record.
