White Flour book on the way…

Order the book or support the project here!

My new illustrated book will be coming out in late May.  It tells a funny, instructive and true story of a creative anti-racism protest by a group calling itself the Coup Clutz Clowns, in Knoxville, Tennessee.  If all goes well, the book will be released on May 26 of 2012, the five year anniversary of the event that inspired the poem.

I wrote the poem shortly after the march, and I’ve been performing it in concerts ever since. I’m thrilled to have finally found the perfect illustrator for the project, and to be making the poem into a 36-page hard cover book.  In the month of March, I am inviting people to be a part of making this particular dream come true true.  If you would like to see a little video I recorded about the project, read the whole text of the poem and learn more about how you can be a part of it, click here.

Hey, I’ve stumbled across this site via a rather complicated route, but I’m glad I did. The book looks great! I couldn’t figure out how to follow this blog though? I see the newsletter Signup, is that the same thing?

Hooray! It’s one of my favorite poems! Truly outstanding…I’ve shared in a sermon and church school class for adults. Can’t wait to see the book! Btw, in your post, did you mean to say the release date will be May 26, 2012 🙂

Ummm… no! Thanks for that catch, Andy! It hasn’t been my best day for digital communication… 😉 I’ll fix that.

David: Met you many years ago at the Swananowa Gathering. You were one of the most supportive and true folk singers I met there. I am sure your project will be a 100% effort to make the world a better place. Also enjoyed the old side of lyrical poetry.

    David,

Sign me up for a couple of copies. I couldn’t find where I could place an order. Let’s talk when you get a chance. We’d like to get some things figured out about a workshop. Maybe incorporating this book would be one of the ways we could do that.

    Peace,

    Lander
